Anderson University will revisit one of its most hallowed traditions on February 13th at 10am as it holds its annual Founders Day convocation to honor all those who have sacrificed through the years to make AU the thriving leader in private higher education that it has become.

Charles E. Dalton, President and C.E.O. of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, will provide the keynote address. Mr. Dalton has been at the forefront of many key initiatives to attract new economic development to the Anderson area and the Upstate of South Carolina as well as other initiatives to enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

Additionally, his company, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative, has been a staunch supporter of Anderson University in both the area of athletics and in helping provide needed facilities for the University. The company also supports the cause of education for our public school children as a valued partner in our school system. It is a cornerstone philosophy of the company to give back to the community, and whether it is in the educational enterprises listed earlier, or in assisting our military families, or even sponsoring enjoyable family events such as Blue Ridge Fest in Pickens, which aids a host of charities, Blue Ridge Electric is a true community partner.

In addition to honoring the founders of the institution, the convocation also provides an opportunity for Anderson University to honor the accomplishments of her alumni. This year, Robert Wilson, President of Anderson Federal Credit Union, a 1982 graduate, is being honored for his service to the community and his success in the professional world.

Anderson University is a selective comprehensive university offering bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees on campus and online. Anderson is ranked in the Top Tier of US News and World Report’s America’s Best Colleges and is on that publication’s list of the 49 “Up & Coming” universities in America. It is also ranked as one of America’s “100 Best College Buys.”
