The College of Christian Studies offers undergraduate and graduate degrees that prepare ministers to preach the Gospel and grow in their ability to reach, teach, and serve people as Jesus did. Our degrees emphasize practical training; in fact, even as an undergrad you can earn a concentration in preaching, as well as in youth ministry, pastoral ministry, and missions. In addition to classes in interpreting Scripture and preaching, you can study other practical courses in pastoral care and counseling, women's ministry and church planting.
Our Faculty: an influential editor, an Army chaplain, veteran pastors
AU is an ideal place to study ministry because your professors have served in unique and diverse capacities in ministry: from church pastors and the founding editor of Preaching magazine to a US Army chaplain and a church growth consultant. Through their depth—and decades—of experience they link the theology and principles you learn in the classroom to real-life ministry.
After completing our bachelor’s programs in Christian Theology, Christian Ministries, and Christian Studies, you’ll be prepared for seminary, a research-oriented graduate program, or service as a pastor, church planter, missionary, youth minister, or career geared to graduates with broad-based liberal arts educations.
