Designated School Official, Center for Global Engagement
Anderson University’s Center for Global Engagement Office invites applications for a full-time and a part-time position as a Designated School Official for the Center for Global Engagement. The Designated School Official (DSO) performs a wide range of duties to support the needs of our international student community, as well as serve as a DSO for US Homeland Security. This includes complying with Department of Homeland Security federal regulations as a DSO for F1 students; issuing I-20s for incoming international students; processing employment work approvals (I-20s) for international students on Curricular Practical Training; advising international students with immigration-related concerns such as optional practical training, curricular training, extension of program, international student health insurance requirements, travel approval and other immigration related concerns. In addition, the DSO assists with approval and authorization for visa renewals, social security/work approval, driver’s license application and other letters required by students for compliance and assists with immigration reporting as required by federal regulations to US Homeland Security.
Associate’s degree with a minimum of two-three years of administrative support experience required. Ability to effectively multi-task with demanding timeframes, shifting priorities and mandates. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with people of different cultural backgrounds in a courteous and professional manner.
