Assistant Athletic Director for Game Operations and Event Management

Anderson University and the Athletics Department invite applications for a 12-month Assistant Athletic Director (AD) for Game Operations and Event Management. The Assistant AD for Game Operations and Event Management provides leadership in executing game day operations and managing athletic events for all university sport teams and will create and execute an operations and communication plan for the Athletic Department.  This position will coordinate, in association with the Associate AD for Athletic Operations, procedures for all day-to-day athletic events, including Trojan Athletic Fund initiatives and on-campus visits, ensuring a hospitable and premiere NCAA Division II experience committed to the growth of the University’s Athletic Department. Additionally, this role will train and supervise student employees and interns on gameday and athletic event procedures, communicate with coaches and volunteers for additional event staffing needs, and communicate with vendors, to guarantee successful game and event operations from setup to cleanup. The Assistant AD will collaborate with the university Marketing and Communication Office to increase social media presence and will serve as a key member of the AU Athletic Leadership Team. Extended hours, occasional travel, and additional duties may be assigned.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a master’s degree in business, sports marketing, event management, and previous work experience in a similar field is preferred. Working knowledge and compliance of all rules and guidelines set by the NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference is necessary. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance and uphold confidentially is essential. An ideal candidate will have proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
