Admission Counselor

Anderson University’s Department of Admissions invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Admission Counselor. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The University seeks a candidate with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning.

The Admission Counselor will provide personalized support for prospective students and parents who are interested in applying for admission to the university, and will advise, develop, and guide students through the admission process. This position will also focus on minority recruitment efforts and implementing best practices in the area of diversity, community, and inclusion.  Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President, Dean of Traditional Admission, candidates must also be able to effectively collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid, University Registrar, Residence Life, and other university departments.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring and reviewing prospects, inquiries, applications, and other admission documents through daily communication with potential students via phone or email; assisting admitted students with the next steps of enrollment, such as, required documents for the financial aid and scholarship process, housing applications, orientation registration, and other related duties.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and related experience. Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills required. Candidates must also possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail. A proven ability to work independently and be self-driven is essential.
