By taking advantage of our dual-enrollment program, you won’t have to worry about taking Advanced Placement exams that determine whether you can skip entry-level general education classes, such as English 101. Instead, you can take—and earn credit for—college courses with our full-time faculty at a respected university.

Our Dual-Enrollment Scholars Program is designed to help you put your junior and senior years to greater use. The program is an enrichment opportunity that invites high school and home-schooled students to earn college credits for courses taken at Anderson University while being enrolled in high school.
DISCOUNTED TUITION
AU offers a discounted tuition rate for dual-enrollment courses. Courses are $125 per credit hour, which is $375-$500 for standard three- to four-credit courses, such as English 101: Composition and Communications 1, and Math 140: Analytic Geometry & Calculus 1. Students from Anderson School District Five pay substantially less, in line with what you’d pay at a South Carolina community college. Compared to normal college tuition rates, AU’s dual-enrollment opportunity offers the potential for significant cost savings in the long run. Plus, there’s no application fee.

Who is eligible for the Dual-Enrollment Scholars Program?
Public high school juniors and seniors as well as home-schooled equivalents are eligible. Students from private schools may also apply but need to check with their guidance counselors to see if their schools offer dual enrollment. Students must meet all college enrollment requirements to be able to participate in the dual-credit courses.
Anderson (S.C.) School District Five: Anderson University has an agreement with Anderson School District Five for dual-credit offerings. Check the school district’s course catalog for additional details.
High school juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA and qualifying scores on SAT, ACT, or ACCUPLACER tests are eligible to apply. Some course descriptions may state that no waivers or overrides to prerequisites will be considered; however, with help from your guidance counselor and our admission staff, we’ll consider conditional admittance if test scores haven’t been reported yet.

- There are online courses available for students who can’t travel to campus.
- Chromebook- and iPad-friendly: many of our courses don’t require additional, expensive textbooks.

Will My Courses Transfer?
AU dual-credit courses are specifically designed to transfer into any four-year institution in the country, whether public or private. Anderson University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees, and many of our programs have additional rigorous accreditation. Though it is always up to the discretion of the receiving university whether to accept credits for transfer, any university accepting transfer credits should also accept AU dual-enrollment credits.
