As their time at Anderson University nears its end, seniors in the School of Interior Design anticipate a tradition that showcases their success: the School of Interior Design Senior Review and Exhibition.
The upcoming Senior Review will feature students’ most significant projects from their portfolio, including their senior thesis.
“The School of Interior Design Senior Review and Exhibition is the culminating exhibition of the body of work students have generated over the past four years as candidates for the BA in Interior Design,” said Anne Martin, dean of the School of Interior Design.
Sarah Martin, a senior Interior Design major with a Business minor, will present three of her key design projects: Queens City Club in Queensland, Australia; SMILE Pregnancy Centerin Dallas, Texas; and Twigs Restaurant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
“The Senior Review and Exhibition demonstrates my educational experience and hard work by displaying some of my most successful designs and allowing me the opportunity to share my knowledge and growth with practicing professionals, faculty and staff of Anderson University, and my family and friends,” Sarah Martin said.
Students will not only present their work but also will be critiqued by faculty and external reviewers.
“The Senior Review is an amazing opportunity for the emerging professional to have the opportunity to present their signature projects from their portfolio and to receive feedback prior to transitioning into the professional setting,” Anne Martin said.
Sarah Martin said that the School of Interior Design has emphasized professionalism and has provided her with leadership and internship opportunities, preparing her for graduation.
“The Senior Review is exciting and important to me as it serves as my opportunity to share my knowledge and experience and show that I am prepared for the professional workplace,” Sarah Martin said.
The Senior Review is open to the public on April 26 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Vandiver Gallery of the Thrift Library, and a reception will follow.
