Education Alumnus Receives Trailblazers Award

Leonard Galloway
Leonard Galloway, a graduate of the Anderson University College of Education, was recognized for his dedicated service to the community at the third annual Trailblazers Celebration February 22 at Westside High School in Anderson.

A 1998 graduate of Westside High School, Galloway went on to Anderson University to earn his Elementary Education degree. Since graduating from Anderson University in 2004, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and currently is human resources director for Anderson School District Five. 

Galloway is committed to his hometown and actively gives back to benefit others. He also actively gives back to Anderson University. Galloway has served on the College of Education’s Teaching Fellows Advisory Committee. According to College of Education Dean Dr. Mark Butler, Galloway has represented Anderson District Five at the College of Education’s Essentials of Teacher Candidacy class sessions to introduce them to the Anderson 5 area and encourage them as future educators.  

Galloway is also a member of the Anderson University Alumni Board. He tells more of his story in this alumni interview.

Also receiving a Trailblazer Award was Nikki Carson, assistant police police chief for the city of Anderson and a doctoral candidate in the Business Leadership Ph.D. program at Anderson University.
