Anderson University and the Thrift Library invite applications for a 12-month, full-time position as Systems and Digital Resources Librarian. This is an in-person, administrative staff position with faculty status. The Systems and Digital Resources Librarian will provide primary support for the library’s systems and digital resources and its users.
- Support the development and management of the library’s digital infrastructure, including the online catalogs, databases, resource sharing systems, digital repositories, and the library website.
- Collaborate with PASCAL staff, IT staff, and vendors to maintain and enhance library technology services, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Explore, evaluate, and encourage deployment of new technologies and digital resources into library programs and services.
- Serve as lead copyright specialist.
- Process digital interlibrary loan requests.
- Support the development and management of open educational resources (OER).
- Locate, create, and maintain digital content to support information, media, and digital literacy initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data on the use of collections and services.
- Provide training for faculty, staff, and students.
- Provide information services to users.
- Participate in professional development for the purpose of continuing education and contributing to the profession.
- Actively demonstrate leadership by participating in professional responsibilities that serve the Thrift Library, Anderson University, the profession, and the community.
Qualified candidates will hold a master’s degree in library and information science. Candidates currently enrolled in and working toward completion of a master’s degree in library and information science may be considered. Previous experience and a high level of comfort and proficiency in electronic resources, library technologies, and integrated library systems is desired. The ability to work independently, prioritize among multiple competing projects, manage complex workflows, and sustain a high level of attention to detail is essential.
