Accounting Manager

Anderson University’s Business Office invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will report to and provide comprehensive assistance to the Controller in the financial management of the University. With a primary focus on the accounting areas within the business office, this position will serve as a central communication resource for payroll, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting research. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of all financial records, procedure manuals, and special reports for decision-making support. Additionally, the Accounting Manager provides leadership in the payroll operations, including supervising associated staff in payroll processing, tax filings, and the managing taxable benefits. Additional leadership during the university’s annual audit, preparation of annual 990 and 990T forms, and special projects as assigned by the Controller and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer may be required to maintain daily operations within the Business Office.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required. Prior accounting and supervisory experience in nonprofit or higher education preferred. Knowledge of payroll, accounting and reporting standards, state and federal tax laws and regulations, and audit requirements, and familiarity with fiscal policies and procedures is preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information required.
