Interior Design students had the rare opportunity to visit and learn from Portman Architect,Pierluca Maffey, and Malik Leaphart as they toured the CODA. The CODA is a joint venture between Acadameia and Enterprise with MultiExperential offices occupied by Georgia Institute of Technolgy and businesses to collaborate and research by engaging students to explore fresh approaches to real world problem solving.
The Anderson University student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) welcomed new interior design freshmen with desserts and lemonade. The freshmen got to meet and socialize with upperclassmen and hear more about ASID. All of the freshmen got paired with upperclassman, who will help mentor them through freshmen year.
Kellie Jonakin, sophomore Interior Design major, was selected into the 2019 Summer Studio program with the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art in New York City.
Chloe Bagley was the recipient of the Eaton SOURCE Lighting Design competition among 10 finalist in the nation as Honorable Mention.
Interior Design students were invited by the Charlotte office of IA Interior Architects for an amazing professional development immersion day with industry professionals for networking, portfolio review, and seminars on current issues in the industry.
Emily Mauldin was awarded first place in the Kravet Design of Distinction Competition, a competition specifically developed by Kravet in partnership with Anderson University's School of Interior Design.
