Sophomore students in the ID program had the opportunity to collaborate with the local Anderson Habitat ReStore on a design project and an evening of service. ReStore Manager and AU class of 2003 alumni Cory Lundeen provides excellent opportunities for the SID students to engage in understanding professional work experience and involvement in a service opportunity where the students help the ReStore staff in staging and setting up the ReStore for their annual Christmas event.
Jacque Ussery, Steelcase, Strategic Account Executive, informs AU Interior Design students of the current innovation, research, and product development by Steelcase as demonstrated in the Atlanta showroom with furniture design for the mobile workplace, healthcare, and hospitality design applications.
Interior Design seniors presented their solutions to the IDEC National Student Competition project "Sensory Environments", in which they designed a vocational facility for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The Student Chapter of ASID welcomes the freshmen of the Interior Design program to AU at the Annual Meet & Greet. This event was also the commencement of the ASID Mentorship program, in which each freshman is paired with an upperclassman member of ASID, with the goal of sharing insight into how to maneuver their college career.
