In cooperation with Friends of the Anderson County Library, the Anderson University Teaching Fellows invite one grade level from the eleven Anderson Five elementary schools to visit campus and hear nationally-known storytellers. This annual event reaches over a thousand elementary students each year. Each school selects the grade level of students that best fits the storyteller’s stories and requests the buses. The Anderson University Teaching Fellows meet the buses, greet the students and teachers, usher the schools into the auditorium, and are available to usher them back to their buses.
The Teaching Fellows enjoy this experience of hosting the schools. Oftentimes, our Teaching Fellows will be or have been serving in some of these classrooms for clinical experiences. It’s always a joy to see the students as they participate in this event.
