Yes\, we must honestly acknowledge that some traditional approaches have caused unintended harm\, but this recognition opens the door to something far more beautiful and faithful. This seminar is your invitation to courageously step into a new paradigm of mission that is more just\, collaborative\, and reflective of God’s Kingdom. Rather than abandoning mission\, we’re called to redeem it by cultivating a robust Christian social imagination that envisions a world where all people flourish as the image-bearers they were created to be\, building our practice upon the unshakeable foundation of human dignity\, and embodying a radical\, biblical mutuality that transforms our relationships\, methods\, and hearts. This one-day gathering with renowned missions thought leader Mekdes Haddis is designed as a catalyst for that transformation—a dedicated space where students\, scholars\, pastors\, and practitioners can wrestle with profound questions and emerge equipped with both theological framework and practical tools for a more faithful and effective missional future. Together\, we will move beyond critique to construction\, guided by one of today’s most vital voices in missional theology\, and discover that the future of mission is not something to fear\, but something to embrace with joy and anticipation.\n\n\nMorning Lecture (10:10 AM): The Influence of Culture on Missional Movements\nThe day will begin with a deep\, historically-informed exploration of the relationship between culture and mission. This session will lay the essential groundwork for the day\, moving beyond a simplistic understanding of “contextualization” to a more profound analysis of\nhow culture shapes our theology\, our methods\, and our very understanding of the Gospel.\nAfternoon Workshop (3:00 PM): Mutuality and the Future of Mission\nFollowing the theoretical foundations of the morning\, this workshop will be an intensely practical and interactive session focused on embedding the principles of mutuality into our lives and ministries. This is where theology meets praxis. This year’s event will be held at The Currahee Club in Toccoa\, Georgia\, on Thursday\, May 22nd\, 2025. The Currahee Club has garnished many awards including the 2018 Golf Club of the Year from Lux Life Magazine and the #1 Golf Club in Georgia and Top 4 in USA National Golf Course Owners Association in 2015. \nThe entry fee for this year’s tournament is $2\,000 per foursome or $500 for an individual. We are also actively looking for individual and corporate sponsorships.
