What classes do you teach at Anderson

General, Analytical, and Instrumental Chemistry

What year did you start teaching at AU

2002

Why teach at AU?

Anderson University has the greatest overall students I've ever been associated with. I feel tremendous satisfaction being part of the team that trains and sends our biology and biochemistry students on to all of the professional programs.

Hobbies

I build rustic pine furniture, primarily all types of tables and benches. I enjoy trying new pieces when time allows. Also, I love to work in the garden and have a large collection of hydrangeas.

People might be interested to know I...

I used to breed and show registered black Clydesdale horses when we lived in Illinois.

Places you've lived

Brookfield, Chicago, and Beecher in Illinois Anderson, South Carolina

What do you find most enjoyable about working at Anderson University?

In addition to the students, the rest of the science faculty are great to work with. They are all very professional and fun to be around.

What I wish prospectives students knew about my discipline or careers in my discipline.

Environmental toxicology is the intersection of chemistry with living organisms. People have the ability to pick up and move, but the plants and animals must learn to cope to survive.

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

The integration of mathematics into the field of chemistry.
