If you have documents listed as “Not Received”, “Not Signed”, or “Incomplete” on the Finances > Financial Aid > Documents link of your AU Self-Service account, review the appropriate document name below for further information on what you may need to complete and use the links to download, complete, and sign the document. Please use secure means (personal delivery, U.S. Postal Service, fax, or encrypted email) to return any requested documentation that contains personal identifiable information. We do not consider using standard email as a secure means to send such documents.
Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment
The Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment is an optional task to help you understand how much you have borrowed in federal student loans previously and how much you are eligible to borrow for the upcoming academic year. You may complete this requirement online at studentaid.gov under the “Complete Aid Process” drop down menu. This task cannot be completed until after April 15th for the upcoming academic year which begins each fall. If you do not wish to borrow any student loans, please email aid@andersonuniversity.edu.
Asset Information Form
We are required to obtain or confirm information about the assets of you and/or your parents to finalize your financial aid application.
For 2023-2024, complete this Asset Information form.

Dependent and Independent Verification Worksheets
The Verification Worksheet is required for students who have been selected for verification by the Central Processing System based on their FAFSA results.
For 2023-2024
If you are a dependent student (parental information is on your FAFSA), complete a “Dependent Verification Worksheet”.
If you are an independent student (parental information is not on your FAFSA), complete an “ Independent Verification Worksheet”.
For 2022-2023
If you are a dependent student (parental information is on your FAFSA), complete a “Dependent Verification Worksheet”.

Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling
Entrance Counseling is required to be completed online prior to disbursement of your first Federal Direct student loan (subsidized or unsubsidized). You may complete your Entrance Counseling online at studentaid.gov.
Review these instructions prior to beginning Entrance Counseling. If you do not wish to borrow any student loans, please email aid@andersonuniversity.edu.

The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is required to be completed by the student for a Federal Direct loan to be disbursed. You may complete the MPN online at studentaid.gov.

Federal PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN)
The PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) is required to be completed by the parent for a PLUS loan to be disbursed. Your parent may complete the PLUS MPN online at studentaid.gov. If after you receive an award notice the parent wishes to reduce the amount of the PLUS loan, he or she may email aid@andersonuniversity.edu.
ID Statement
If this document is being requested, you will need to print and complete this document with your signature in the physical presence of a financial aid counselor at Anderson University. If you are unable to meet with a financial aid counselor because of distance, please call the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships for alternatives.
Parent's IRS Tax Return Transcript
You have been selected for verification and to complete your verification the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will need a copy of your parent’s federal tax return transcript (NOT A COPY OF THEIR TAX RETURN). Instructions for requesting a tax return transcript can be found here.
If you are eligible, it is faster to go back into your FAFSA application and use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT) (see IRS Data Retrieval Tool Instructions) If you are able to use the IRS DRT and make no changes to the financial information, we will not need your parent’s IRS Tax Return Transcript.
Parent's W2(s)
You have been selected for verification and to complete your verification the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will need a copy of all your parent’s W2(s). If you do not have all the W2(s), you may request a Wage and Income Transcript from the IRS.
Parent’s Non-Tax Return Filer Status
Your parent(s) are required to document that no federal tax return was filed. For information on how to request a Verification of Non-Tax Filing Letter.
S.C. Residency Form
To be eligible for funding from the State of S.C., you must be classified as a South Carolina resident. Please complete this South Carolina Residency Form for us to determine your residency status for awarding State aid.
S.C. State Certification Form
The State of South Carolina requires by law that if you receive a South Carolina Tuition Grant, LIFE Scholarship, HOPE Scholarship or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship that you complete, sign, and return the S.C. State Certification form to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships annually. Funds for the above referenced grants/scholarships will not disburse until this document is received.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal
Students who fail to meet Anderson University's published Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy are not eligible for financial aid funds. In some circumstances, students who experienced extenuating, documentable circumstances may file an appeal by sending in the completed SAP appeal form along with documentation to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
Signature Needed on FAFSA
We have not received required signature(s) for the FAFSA on the Web application or correction. Please log into your FAFSA application at fafsa.gov and provide the required signature using your FSA ID and password and/or your parent’s FSA ID and password (if dependent).
