Cause

Purchase the equipment needed for a new course in the School of Public Service and Administration designed to prepare AU students for the use of small unmanned aerial systems (drones) in public safety

The course name is Drones and Remote Piloting. It is being offered primarily for public safety training, but it will be open to students from all disciplines who might have the need to operate a drone for their profession, ie. photographers, journalist, realtors, private security, architects, etc.

Goal:  $20,000

Impact

Train and FAA license AU students in the School of Public Service and Administration in practical flight training of drones and preparation for scenario-based exercises such as outdoor crime scene photography, search and rescue, fire-safety inspections and other practical uses in Public Safety.
