He has served in leadership roles for the Southeastern Theatre Conference and is the artistic director for the AU Repertory Theatre which focuses on local high school students. He has a certificate of completion from the Michael Chekhov Association.
Robert has received special note from the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for five of his productions including The Tempest, The Imaginary Invalid, The Misanthrope, Mother Courage and Saint Joan. Favorite acting roles have included Marc Antony in Julius Caesar, Morris in The Heiress, Stephen in Arlene Hutton's play Running and Ulee in Sharr White’s Annapurna. Robert has done commercial work for clients including Lowe's Home Improvement and American Express.
“I am committed to excellence in theatre arts,” he says, “but I am also passionate about the growth of each of the students entrusted to my care as individuals.”
Robert wishes prospective students knew more about his discipline. “I believe that the study of theatre arts has the potential to make us more compassionate and vibrant human beings who have the skills needed to make a difference in our world. Whether you go to a career on Broadway or a career in ministry or business, what you learn in the theatre about creativity, adaptability, work ethic, interpersonal relationships and group dynamics will serve you well.”
