AU REP

~mentoring young theatre artists of great character and spirit~

For the past eight years, Theatre majors in The South Carolina School of the Arts have joined forces with area high school actors to share theatre with the community through the Summer Repertory Theatre. Local high school actors participate in a three-week long workshop that culminates with the staging of two plays. The "AU Rep" as it is called, is part of the larger "Anderson Theatre Festival."

Last year local high school students mentored by AU Theatre majors worked to produce Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar and a fast-paced version of Around the World in 80 Days based on the novel by Jules Vern. AU Rep is inexpensive and offers an hour of college credit. Past productions have included The Tempest, Alice and Treasure Island among others.

Important Announcement

AU Repertory will be going on hiatus for one more year as we reassess how to best serve the community. We hope to back in full swing for the Summer of 2022!

If you are a talented young actor or designer, we encourage you to audition for the Theatre program at Anderson University. If you have questions about how to audition during this unusual time, please send an e-mail to: scschoolofthearts@andersonuniversity.edu.

We remain deeply committed to AU Rep and look forward to having you join us in the future!

Also, please be sure to join us for the 20-21 season of great theatre at the AU Playhouse in Belk Theatre and Henderson Auditorium. This year's season includes: The Women of Lockerbie (September), Sunday in the Park with George (October), Xanadu (February 2021) & Richard III (April 2021).
