The Creative Challenge
I am pleased to report that student enthusiasm at The South Carolina School of the Arts remains strong. We have faced the current health challenge with a host of creative solutions. Our faculty have retooled their teaching, tailoring various digital platforms to enable online music lessons, and even several online studio art classes. Our large Wind Ensemble has divided into several smaller chamber groups, each requiring socially distant rehearsals on the stage of Henderson Auditorium. From our virtual Christmas First Night to the riveting podcast of Richard III, we have reset traditional boundaries with new performance and event formats. Our guiding principle for the spring of 2023 will remain innovation and flexibility, for both our arts programs and our arts patrons. We look forward to another semester of creating impactful art, fostering education, and furthering our faith together at the South Carolina School of the Arts.
Blessings,
Dr. David Larson
Dean of The South Carolina School of the Arts
