Exercising, playing tennis, cooking, traveling, reading for leisure (which rarely happens), and playing with my daughter.

People might be interested to know I...

used to be a head athletic trainer. I played tennis in college and also have done a few triathlons and a half-marathon. Now, I only play tennis!

What do you find most enjoyable about working at Anderson University?

I enjoy working with faculty and staff at AU. It truly feels like a family away from home. We have a large major, but we are close with our students and get to know many of them on a personal level. There is a sense of community within the Kinesiology program and that is the biggest reason I am here.

What I wish prospectives students knew about my discipline or careers in my discipline.

Being a Kinesiology major is more than simply having fun or helping people. You really have to be educated about the physiological processes and how/why our body responds the way it does. Those interested in graduate school need to know they need a high GPA and hundreds of hours volunteering. Start networking and collecting hours!

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

Classes are fun and hands-on, but the exams can be challenging. I rely heavily on practical application as simply having a 4.0, but not the ability to apply one’s skills, is doing a disservice to both the student and their future clients.
