AU Music Department Presents Faculty Recital
To celebrate the start of the new school year, the AU music faculty will present a free recital Wednesday, September 2 at 4:30 pm at the Daniel Recital Hall.
Eight faculty members will perform solo and chamber pieces at the recital on a variety of musical instruments, including trombone, cello, voice, piano, and clarinet.
Tommy L. Watson, Doctor of Musical Arts and recital organizer, expressed his enthusiasm over the opportunity for AU faculty to share their musical talents with the public, but also with the students. “Not only is it an opportunity for us to give back to the community, but it also allows us to be role models for our students. It is important for us to continually lead by example, and this recital demonstrates that. We want our students to understand that we would not expect them to share their music with us, if we were not willing to do the same for them.”
The recital will last approximately 75 minutes, including a brief intermission. It is free to the public, but tickets are required. They are available at the AU box office or by calling (864) 231-2080.
