Technician - Maintenance

Anderson University invites applications for the position of Maintenance Technician in Campus Facilities. The full-time, 12-month position reports to the Physical Plant Supervisor and is primarily responsible to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled troubleshooting, maintenance, modification, and repair work in specialized maintenance operations areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other building systems as required.

Essential Functions

  • Required to perform a wide variety of work independently to ensure that the infrastructures of the University are maintained in a safe and effective working condition
  • Be able to perform work in all skillsets related to operational and maintenance areas
  • Perform basic repair and maintenance activities
  • Use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Perform semi-skilled construction, modification, maintenance and repair work on a variety of building systems
  • Troubleshoot basic maintenance problems and determine solutions independently

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred Technical Degree in related field
  • Basic knowledge in the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing trades
  • Work hours are Sunday through Thursday, 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Periodic 24 hr emergency On Call duties requiring a 20 minute response time
