Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor – Early Childhood Education

Anderson University and the College of Education invites applications for a full-time, nine-month position as Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education.  As a visiting full-time faculty member your responsibilities to the University will be primary.  Except when excused or on granted leave, you shall, pursuant to University policies, procedures, rules and regulations, devote yourself full-time during the academic year to maintaining currency in your discipline, course preparation and teaching, providing timely feedback to students, advising students, keeping office hours, observing grading deadlines, administrative work assignments, professional activities, and participating in those University events designated as being of annual significance. The period of employment is for either the fall, or for fall and spring of the 2016-2017 academic year.

Terminal degree in a scholarly discipline appropriate to the curriculum areas contained within the purview of the college or school is required.  Candidate should demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with current university policies, be fully supportive of the goals, values and strategic direction of the institution and of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and must demonstrate qualities of Christian behavior.

Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment: annual appointment, professional path, and tenure track.  Faculty in the Professional Path are hired to serve the institution with a focus on the teaching role. They are evaluated on the basis of mission fit, teaching and learning, and service; and they are able to promote through faculty ranks. After six years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become eligible for multi-year contracts.
